Physical Theatre Course Structure

A five day fun packed and intensive course culminating in a 1hr devised performance to the public.

The first half will consist of practicing the exciting and energetic techniques used by physical theatre company Scene Productions. This includes physical movement sequences, mime, multi-rolling, soundscaping, puppetry, character mask, improvisation and the process of devising theatre. Students will take part and inspire the research and development phase of the company’s upcoming touring shows.

The second half consists of working as a team to devise and create a slick, fast paced and highly imaginative piece of physical theatre. Students will learn the importance of creating their own work and get the rare chance to develop their ideas in a focused, professional and exciting environment, under the guidance of the company’s principal movement directors. Friends and family are invited to watch the 1hr performance on the final day at no extra cost. The show also acts as a chance for students to invite industry professionals and showcase their talent.
