Scene Productions is a local physical theatre company based in Yateley, founded in 2004 by Artistic Directors Kelly Taylor-Smith & Katharine who met at the Guildford School of Acting in 2002. The company creates vibrant, fast-paced and immersive adaptations of classical texts as well as their own devised work. Their unique physical style combines mask, puppetry, movement, sound, text and tightly choreographed movement sequences.

The company became the associate company of Redbridge Drama Centre in 2010 and the associate company of South Hill Park in 2013. They have worked extensively in over 400 schools, arts centres and theatres throughout the UK, Ireland and Belgium and their style & approach to theatre is studied in schools nationwide.

Among their achievements, in 2009 they performed a three week run of ‘The Other Side’, a devised physical theatre piece based on true stories from the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, at The Gilded Balloon during the Edinburgh Fringe, in collaboration with company Gavin Robertson, receiving 4 & 5 star reviews. In 2011 they created an ‘outstanding’ (The Stage) physical adaptation of Metamorphosis and in 2013 they were commissioned by South Hill Park to co-produce and direct the centenary production of ‘Oh What A Lovely War’, in association with Bracknell Forest Council.

With their love of promenade style theatre and getting up close to the audience taking them on a magical journey, Scene Productions finished their 4th promenade at Ascot Race course with; For King And Country. A WW1 based production with true local stories interspersed. They have just finished their promenade production of Alice in Wonderland which took place in the award winning grounds of SHP. Extra dates and tickets were released due to popular demand.

Their work includes a strong focus on learning and the company lead a variety of workshops offering students and adults the chance to re-discover theatre in fresh, bold and imaginative ways. The company also offer work experience to students and collaborate and participate in workshops with other theatre companies to continually learn and progress themselves.
